SEE ALSO...

Fatso Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fatso protein in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fatso (C-3) antibody comes in non-conjugated form and various conjugates including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® options. Fatso protein, also known as FTO or KIAA1752, is a 505 amino acid protein with an N-terminal nuclear localization signal that guides Fatso to the nucleus for regulating energy homeostasis and fat metabolism. Fatso (C-3) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein associated with obesity and metabolic disorders, as Fatso gene variants link to increased body mass index and type 2 diabetes risk. Fatso protein shows highest expression in brain and pancreatic tissue, existing in four alternatively spliced isoforms, with one form particularly connected to obesity-related conditions. Located on human chromosome 16, Fatso′s gene resides in a region containing over 900 genes associated with various genetic disorders, including giant axonal neuropathy and Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome, underscoring Fatso′s significance in metabolic health and genetic disease.

I am using sc-271713 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
