FAT2 Antibody (8C5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FAT2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). FAT2 (8C5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FAT2 protein, also known as CDHF8, HFAT2, or MEGF1 (multiple epidermal growth factor-like domains 1), is a single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling. FAT2 belongs to the protocadherin subfamily of cadherins, which are essential for maintaining tissue architecture and facilitating intercellular communication. FAT2 contains a unique structure with one Laminin G-like domain, two EGF-like domains, and 32 cadherin domains, which contribute to adhesive properties and specificity in binding to other cells. FAT2 interaction with cytoplasmic proteins, such as β-catenin, is vital for regulating function and ensuring proper cellular responses during development and tissue maintenance.
