Fascin 1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fascin 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Fascin 1 (D-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fascin 1 plays a crucial role in organizing the actin cytoskeleton, particularly in forming actin microspikes, which are essential for cell adhesion and migration. These microspikes form in response to extracellular matrix components, such as thrombospondin 1, and are vital for processes like tissue remodeling and wound healing. The ability of Fascin to bundle actin filaments within dynamic cellular structures, including microspikes, stress fibers, and membrane ruffles, underscores its importance in maintaining cellular architecture and facilitating motility. Fascin 1 has been identified as a potential prognostic marker for abnormal ovarian epithelial pathology and represents a novel therapeutic target in ovarian cancer treatment. Fascin serves as a key identifier for dendritic cells in both blood and tissue, highlighting its significance in immune responses.

Can Fascin 1 (D-10): sc-46675 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Fascin 1 (D-10): sc-46675 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
