Fascin 1 Antibody (55K-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Fascin 1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Fascin 1 antibody (55K-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Fascin 1 plays a crucial role in organizing the actin cytoskeleton, particularly in forming F-actin microspikes essential for cell adhesion and migration. These microspikes, formed upon adhesion to extracellular matrix glycoprotein Thrombospondin 1, are vital for cellular processes such as tissue remodeling and wound repair. By bundling actin microfilaments, Fascin 1 contributes to the structural integrity of dynamic cellular formations, including microspikes, stress fibers, and membrane ruffles. Fascin 1 has been identified as a potential prognostic factor for abnormal ovarian epithelial pathology and represents a novel therapeutic target in ovarian cancer treatment. Fascin 1′s ability to identify dendritic cells in both blood and tissues further underscores its significance in immunological responses and cellular dynamics.

Can you recommend a positive control to use with Fascin 1 (55K-2): sc-21743 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jenni
We recommend NIH/3T3: sc-2210, SH-SY5Y: sc-3812 or Hep G2: sc-2227 whole cell lysates to use as positive controls as we have great Western blot data showing specific detection of Fascin 1 in these cell lines.
