FANCI Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FANCI protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FANCI Antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FANCI, also known as KIAA1794, is a crucial component in the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway, which is vital for maintaining genomic stability. This 1,328 amino acid protein is primarily located in the nucleus, where FANCI plays a significant role in the repair of DNA damage, particularly in response to double-strand breaks and DNA cross-links. Nuclear localization of FANCI enables immediate response to DNA damage, facilitating recruitment of other repair proteins, such as FANCD2, to sites of injury. Defects in FANCI can lead to Fanconi anemia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by bone marrow failure, congenital abnormalities, and increased susceptibility to cancer due to chromosomal instability. FANCI undergoes post-translational modifications, including monoubiquitination and DNA damage-dependent phosphorylation, which are critical for DNA repair and chromosomal stability functions. FANCI is encoded on human chromosome 15 and produces four alternatively spliced isoforms, highlighting complex regulatory mechanisms involved in expression and function.
