FANCG Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects FANCG protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-FANCG antibody (F-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FANCG plays a crucial role in the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway, which is essential for the repair of DNA interstrand cross-links, thereby maintaining genomic stability. Deficiencies in FANCG can lead to increased susceptibility to DNA damage, resulting in the hallmark features of Fanconi anemia, such as bone marrow failure and chromosomal instability. FANCG is primarily localized in the nucleus, where FANCG participates in DNA repair processes, and is also expressed in the cytoplasm, with high levels found in the testis and thymus. Regulation of FANCG, particularly through post-translational modifications like phosphorylation, is vital for function; for instance, phosphorylation at serine 7 has been identified as a key modification that influences FA pathway activity. FANCG monoclonal antibody (F-8) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying DNA repair mechanisms and the molecular underpinnings of Fanconi anemia.
