SEE ALSO...

FAF1 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects FAF1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). FAF1 (E-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. FAF1, known as FAS-associated protein factor-1, plays a crucial role in the apoptotic signaling pathway, particularly in FAS ligand and tumor necrosis factor interactions. FAF1 binds to the cytoplasmic tail of the wild-type FAS receptor, enhancing the efficiency of FAS-mediated apoptosis, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and eliminating damaged or unwanted cells. Unlike other interacting proteins such as TRADD and FADD, FAF1 does not possess a death domain homologous region and cannot independently induce apoptosis without FAS activation. This unique characteristic underscores FAF1′s importance in the regulation of apoptosis, making FAF1 a significant target for studies related to cell death and survival mechanisms in various diseases, including cancer.
