SEE ALSO...

Factor IX Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Factor IX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Factor IX (B-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Factor IX protein plays a crucial role in the blood coagulation cascade, which is essential for hemostasis following tissue injury. Factor IX is a vitamin K-dependent serine protease synthesized in the liver as an inactive precursor, circulating in the bloodstream until activated. Upon activation, Factor IXa, which consists of a light chain and a heavy chain linked by disulfide bonds, catalyzes the conversion of Factor X to Xa, thereby amplifying the coagulation response. This process is vital for forming stable fibrin clots and promoting platelet aggregation, which are necessary to prevent excessive bleeding. Genetic mutations in Factor IX gene can lead to hemophilia B, a bleeding disorder that underscores Factor IX significance in maintaining normal hemostatic function.

Do you know if the antibody is inhibitory? Does it prolong clotting time or inhibit intrinsic tenase actiivity? What is the sequence of the blocking peptide?

Asked by: TMMM
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested for any functional activity. The specific antigenic sequence used to develop the antibody (and corresponding blocking peptide) is considered proprietary information. Please contact Technical Service if you would like an amino acid range within where the epitope is mapping.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377187 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
