SEE ALSO...

EXT2 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EXT2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EXT2 Antibody (A-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EXT2 (A-2) antibody targets a protein that plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of heparan sulfate, a glycosaminoglycan essential for various biological processes, including cell signaling, development, and tissue repair. Located primarily in the Golgi apparatus, EXT2 interacts with EXT1 to form heteromeric complexes that facilitate the polymerization of heparan sulfate. This interaction is vital because defects in EXT2 or EXT1 can lead to hereditary multiple exostoses (HME), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by the formation of cartilage-capped bony protrusions on long bones. Proper functioning of EXT2 is critical for maintaining normal heparan sulfate biosynthesis, and transferase activities are necessary for the addition of D-glucuronyl and N-acetyl-D-glucosaminyl residues, which are fundamental for the structural integrity and biological activity of heparan sulfate. Anti-EXT2 antibody (A-2) serves as an important tool for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying HME and the broader implications of heparan sulfate in health and disease.

Are there any issues with using sc-514092: EXT2 (A-2) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-514092 conjugates.
