ETAR Antibody (H-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects endothelin receptor A (ETAR) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ETAR plays a crucial role in cardiovascular and renal physiology by mediating the effects of endothelins, particularly endothelin-1 (ET1), which is vital for regulating vascular tone and blood pressure. ETAR activation leads to an increase in intracellular calcium levels and influences various cellular processes, including sodium-potassium transport in lens epithelial cells. ETAR is characterized by seven hydrophobic transmembrane domains, which are essential for function as a G protein-coupled receptor. ETAR expression is particularly prominent in tissues such as the aorta, lung, atrium, kidney, placenta, and prostate, with placental vascular smooth muscle cells being a unique site of ETAR expression. ETAR′s ability to induce arachidonic acid accumulation further underscores significance in signaling pathways that affect vascular and cellular responses. Anti-ETAR antibody (H-11) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the physiological and pathological roles of endothelin signaling in human health and disease.
