Estrogen Receptor alpha Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against an epitope mapping between amino acids 576-595 at the C-terminus of human Estrogen Receptor alpha (ERα). ERα monoclonal antibody (F-10) detects ERα in human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ERα is a nuclear hormone receptor and a member of the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily, functioning as a ligand-activated transcription factor that plays a pivotal role in regulating the normal function of reproductive tissues, including the uterus and mammary glands. Upon binding to estrogen, ERα undergoes a conformational change, dissociates from heat shock proteins, dimerizes, and translocates to the nucleus where ERα binds to specific DNA sequences known as estrogen response elements (EREs) to regulate the transcription of target genes involved in cell growth, differentiation, and reproductive function.
