ERGIC-53 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ERGIC-53 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ERGIC-53, also known as LMAN1, plays a crucial role in the intracellular transport of glycoproteins, specifically those with high mannose-type glycans, from the endoplasmic reticulum to the ER-Golgi intermediate compartment. ERGIC-53 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring that glycoproteins are correctly sorted and delivered to their destinations, which is vital for proper cell function and communication. Notably, mutations or null expression of ERGIC-53 can lead to severe consequences, including a rare autosomal recessive bleeding disorder characterized by a combined deficiency of coagulation factors V and VIII, highlighting the importance of ERGIC-53 in hemostasis.
