ERCC1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ERCC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ERCC1 antibody (D-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ERCC1 plays a crucial role in the nucleotide excision repair pathway, which is essential for maintaining genomic stability by repairing DNA damage caused by environmental factors such as UV radiation. ERCC1 forms a heterodimer with XPF, a structure-specific endonuclease that is vital for the incision step during DNA repair. The ERCC1-XPF complex recognizes and cleaves damaged DNA, thereby facilitating the removal of bulky DNA adducts and preventing mutations that could lead to diseases such as xeroderma pigmentosum, a condition characterized by extreme sensitivity to sunlight and a predisposition to skin cancer. ERCC1′s interaction with various DNA repair proteins underscores its importance in cellular defense mechanisms against genotoxic stress, making ERCC1 a significant target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic interventions.
