ErbB-4 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody raised against human ErbB-4, a sophisticated signaling protein belonging to the epidermal growth factor receptor family. ErbB-4 mouse monoclonal antibody (C-7) recognizes an epitope within the ErbB-4 immunogen sequence and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting ErbB-4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. Anti-ErbB-4 monoclonal antibody (C-7) is available in non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated forms including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatility for diverse experimental needs. ErbB-4 undergoes a unique regulatory mechanism through proteolytic processing: when ErbB-4′s ligand heregulin binds, ErbB-4 experiences a cleavage event that releases the ectodomain, initiating crucial downstream signaling cascades. This sophisticated control mechanism proves essential for normal cellular functions and takes on particular significance in cancer biology, especially in breast carcinoma where ErbB-4 expression levels become notably elevated. ErbB-4 maintains precise localization at the cell membrane, where ErbB-4 can form either homodimers or heterodimers with other receptor family members. These dimeric complexes create intricate signaling networks that maintain cellular homeostasis and orchestrate responses to external growth signals. Through these diverse cellular functions, ErbB-4 (C-7) antibody serves as a valuable tool for investigating both normal cell signaling and cancer development mechanisms.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work for immunofluorescence (pig)Immunohistochemistry: the antibody was tested on mammary gland and kidney from 6 months old gilts. Antigen retrieval was performed in citrate buffer, 30'. Primary antibody: 1:50 dilution, 1h, RT. Secondary antibody: Alexa Fluor 488 (1:500), 1h, RT. Results: negative; nonspecific signal was observed both in epithelial and connective fractions.
