ERAB Antibody (E-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ERAB protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ERAB (E-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ERAB protein, also known as endoplasmic reticulum-associated β-Amyloid-binding protein, plays a crucial role in cellular response to β-Amyloid, a neurotoxic peptide linked to Alzheimer′s disease. ERAB protein is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum, where ERAB protein is involved in processing and degradation of misfolded proteins, vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing neurodegeneration. ERAB protein localization in the endoplasmic reticulum allows for immediate response to β-Amyloid accumulation, facilitating cellular mechanisms that mitigate toxic effects. ERAB protein functions as a NAD+-dependent dehydrogenase, constitutively expressed in various tissues and overexpressed in neurons affected by Alzheimer′s disease. Research has shown that cells overexpressing ERAB protein exhibit increased sensitivity to β-Amyloid-induced stress, and inhibiting ERAB protein activity can prevent cell death, underscoring ERAB protein′s critical role in Alzheimer′s disease pathophysiology.
