SEE ALSO...

ENT2 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ENT2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ENT2 (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The equilibrative nucleoside transporter 2 (ENT2), also known as solute carrier family 29 (nucleoside transporters), member 2, plays a crucial role in the transport of nucleosides and nucleobases across cell membranes, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various physiological processes. Located primarily in the plasma membrane, ENT2 facilitates the uptake of purines, such as hypoxanthine and adenosine, which are essential for nucleotide synthesis and energy metabolism. This transport activity is particularly important in tissues with high metabolic demands, such as the brain and heart, where the availability of nucleosides can significantly influence cellular signaling pathways and overall tissue function. By regulating adenosine levels, ENT2 also impacts neurotransmission and platelet aggregation, making ENT2 a key player in both normal physiology and potential therapeutic interventions for conditions like cancer and viral infections.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-373871 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
