EMMPRIN Antibody (36.3G4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects EMMPRIN in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). EMMPRIN, also known as basigin or CD147, plays a crucial role in the regulation of matrix remodeling at the epidermal-dermal interface, where EMMPRIN stimulates fibroblasts to produce various matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), including interstitial collagenase, gelatinase A, and stromelysin-1. These enzymes are vital during tissue degradation and wound healing, as MMPs facilitate the breakdown of extracellular matrix components, allowing for cellular migration and tissue repair. Importantly, dysregulation of EMMPRIN and associated MMPs has been implicated in cancer invasion and metastasis, making EMMPRIN a significant target for therapeutic intervention and a valuable marker for studying tumor progression.
