SEE ALSO...

Emerin Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects emerin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-emerin antibody (H-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Emerin plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of the nuclear envelope, as a key component of the nuclear lamina, which provides mechanical support to the nucleus and regulates important cellular processes such as gene expression and DNA replication. Nuclear membrane localization of emerin is vital for proper nuclear function, and disruptions in emerin expression can lead to severe consequences, including the development of Emery-Dreyfuss muscular dystrophy (EDMD), a genetic disorder characterized by muscle weakness, joint contractures, and cardiac issues. Association of emerin with desmosomes and fasciae adherentes in cardiac tissue is particularly significant, as this may contribute to the conduction defects observed in EDMD patients. Using emerin monoclonal antibody (H-12) in research can provide valuable insights into emerin′s role in cellular architecture and implications in muscular dystrophies.

Could we use this antibody against the mouse adipose stem cells.??

Asked by: Rumi
Thank you for your question. This antibody is human reactive, it has not been tested for mouse sample use, and can not be recommended or warrantied for that use. You can find our mouse reactive Emmprin antibodies here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/emmprin-Antibodies/_/N-4htxw6?Nr=AND%28product.siteId%3AscbtSite%2COR%28product.catalogId%3AscbtCatalog%29%2Cproduct.webDisplayFlag%3A1%2Cproduct.suppressDisplayFlag%3A0%29

I am using emerin (H-12): sc-25284 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
