EMAP II Antibody (E-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide (EMAP II) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EMAP II plays a crucial role as a chemoattractant cytokine for monocytes and granulocytes, particularly in apoptosis-induced inflammation. EMAP II is primarily located in the extracellular space, where various cell types, including tumor cells, secrete this protein to modulate immune responses and promote angiogenesis in the tumor microenvironment. EMAP II secretion enhances tumor-associated vasculature sensitivity to tumor necrosis factor, influencing tumor progression and immune evasion mechanisms. EMAP II is synthesized as a precursor protein, proEMAP II, which undergoes proteolytic cleavage to yield the mature, biologically active form. This post-translational modification activates the cytokine and enables receptor interactions on immune cells, amplifying inflammatory responses. Anti-EMAP II antibody (E-5) serves as an invaluable tool for studying this cytokine′s roles in cancer biology and immune regulation.
