ELL Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ELL of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ELL (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ELL, also known as the 11-19 lysine-rich leukemia protein, plays a crucial role as an elongation factor for RNA polymerase II, significantly enhancing transcription by alleviating transient pauses during elongation. This function is vital for gene expression regulation, ensuring efficient synthesis of mature messenger RNA, which is essential for proper cellular function and proliferation. ELL is predominantly expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes, skeletal muscle, placenta, and testis, while showing lower levels in tissues such as spleen, thymus, heart, brain, lung, kidney, liver, and ovary. The gene encoding human ELL is located on chromosome 19p13.1 and is implicated in acute myeloid leukemia due to translocation with MLL gene on chromosome 11q23, which is critical for embryonic and hematopoietic development. Anti-ELL antibody (B-4) in various formats serves as a versatile tool for researchers studying gene regulation and molecular mechanisms underlying leukemia.
