eIF4E Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF4E protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF4E antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF4E protein plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells, primarily by binding to the 5′ cap of mRNA, which is essential for the recruitment of the ribosome to the mRNA. This interaction facilitates the formation of the eukaryotic initiation complex eIF4F, which consists of eIF4E, eIF4A, and eIF4G. The complex promotes ribosome binding and helps in unwinding mRNA secondary structures, thereby enhancing translation efficiency. eIF4G serves as a scaffold that links eIF4E and eIF4A to the eIF3 complex, further underscoring eIF4E′s importance in regulating protein synthesis and cellular function.
