eIF3θ Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF3 theta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-eIF3θ antibody (E-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF3 theta protein plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells, functioning as part of the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex, which is the largest of the eIF complexes. This complex is essential for the assembly of the 40S ribosomal subunit, facilitating the stabilization of the eIF2-GTP-Met-tRNAiMet complex and promoting mRNA binding. Proper functioning of eIF3 theta and associated proteins is vital for the regulation of translation, as these components help dissociate 80S ribosomes into their 40S and 60S subunits, thereby enabling the formation of the pre-initiation complex. Notably, dysregulation and overexpression of eIF3 proteins, including eIF3 theta, have been implicated in various cancers, highlighting their potential role in tumorigenesis and making these factors important targets for cancer research and therapeutic interventions.
