eIF3ε Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects eIF3 epsilon protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). eIF3ε (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. eIF3 epsilon protein plays a crucial role in the initiation of protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells, functioning as part of the eukaryotic initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex, which is the largest of the eIF complexes. This complex is essential for the assembly of the 40S ribosomal subunit, facilitating the stabilization of the eIF2-GTP-Met-tRNAiMet complex and promoting mRNA binding. Proper functioning of eIF3 is vital for the regulation of translation, as eIF3 not only aids in the assembly of the pre-initiation complex but also promotes the dissociation of 80S ribosomes into their 40S and 60S subunits. Dysregulation and overexpression of eIF3 proteins have been implicated in various cancers, highlighting their potential role in tumorigenesis and making eIF3 proteins important targets for cancer research.
