SEE ALSO...

eIF2α Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha (eIF2α) protein from human, mouse, and rat sources across a variety of applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). eIF2α monoclonal antibody (D-3) targets the full-length human eIF2α epitope spanning amino acids 1-315, ensuring robust and reliable binding. eIF2α (D-3) antibody recognizes a critical component of the eukaryotic initiation complex, which also includes eIF2β and eIF2γ, and plays a pivotal role in the initiation of protein synthesis by facilitating the binding of tRNA to the 40S ribosomal subunit in a GTP-dependent manner. eIF2α (D-3) monoclonal antibody identifies a protein essential for the regulation of translation initiation and serves as a key regulatory node in cellular stress responses. When eIF2α is phosphorylated by specific kinases, eIF2α becomes stabilized and inhibits the GDP/GTP exchange necessary for translation initiation, thereby slowing down protein synthesis. This regulatory mechanism is crucial for cells to manage stress conditions and maintain homeostasis, and dysregulation of eIF2α phosphorylation is implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. eIF2α (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for diverse experimental requirements and facilitating advanced research into the intricate mechanisms of protein synthesis and cellular stress responses.

Does this antibody recognize eIF2alpha regardless of its phosphorylation? 이 안티바디는 phosphorylated form과 unphosphorylated form 둘다 잡나요?

Asked by: abcdef25
Thank you for your question. eIF2α Antikörper (D-3): sc-133132 was raised against acids 1-315 representing full length eIF2α of human origin and should detect both phosphorylated and unphosphorylated forms of eIF2α.

Hi, Would this antibody work in yeast? or could you give is its region of target in eif2alpha? additionally, is SC-11386 antibody available to purchase?

Asked by: thariz
Thanks for your questions. eIF2α Antibody (D-3): sc-133132 is raised against acids 1-315 representing full length eIF2α of human origin. This antibody has not yet been tested in yeast and so that is not a recommended species. eIF2α (FL-315) :sc-11386 has been discontinued and replaced by eIF2α (D-3): sc-133132.

I am an interested in using sc-133132 as a part of a double stain. Do you have any suggestions about how to do this with only mouse monoclonal antibodies?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. This product, sc-133132, is available directly conjugated to AF488, AF647, and FITC.
