EHD4 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects EHD4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-EHD4 antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Eps15 homology domain (EHD)-containing proteins, including EHD4, play a crucial role in the trafficking of receptors and other membrane proteins from the endosomal recycling compartment, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling. EHD4, also known as PAST4 or Pincher, is part of a subfamily that includes EHD1, EHD2, and EHD3, and is predominantly expressed in the pancreas and heart, where EHD4 localizes to vesicular and tubular structures within the cell. EHD4 features an EH domain and a calcium-binding EF hand, which are essential for EHD4′s function in endosomal transport. Notably, EHD4 is involved in the transport of transferrin, a key protein for iron uptake, from the early endosome to the endocytic recycling compartment; loss of EHD4 can result in the retention of transferrin in peripheral compartments, highlighting EHD4′s regulatory role in iron homeostasis.
