EGFR Antibody (F4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects amino acids 985-996 of EGFR of human origin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-EGFR antibody (F4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) plays a crucial role in cell signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation, survival, and differentiation. Located primarily on the cell membrane, EGFR is activated upon binding to ligands, such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor alpha (TGFα), leading to receptor dimerization and subsequent activation of intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity. This activation triggers a cascade of downstream signaling pathways, including the RAS-RAF-MAPK and PI3K-AKT pathways, which are essential for normal cellular functions and tissue homeostasis. EGFR′s ability to undergo post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation, further enhances signaling capabilities and contributes to oncogenic potential. Consequently, targeting EGFR with EGFR monoclonal antibody (F4) presents a promising strategy for cancer therapy, as inhibiting EGFR function can induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in tumor cells.
