EG-VEGF Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects EG-VEGF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-EG-VEGF antibody (E-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The endocrine gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor (EG-VEGF) plays a crucial role in the proliferation, migration, and fenestration of capillary endothelial cells specifically derived from endocrine glands, such as the ovary, testis, adrenal glands, and placenta. EG-VEGF includes a high-affinity binding site for hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1), allowing expression to be induced under hypoxic conditions and regulate vascular development in a tissue-specific manner. EG-VEGF expression is often complementary to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), suggesting coordinated function between these molecules in promoting endothelial cell behavior. Through binding to a G protein-coupled receptor, EG-VEGF activates critical signaling pathways, including MAPK p44/42 and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase, which are essential for endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and survival in response to specific physiological cues.
