ECE-1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ECE-1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ECE-1 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ECE-1 plays a crucial role in the cardiovascular system by converting big endothelin-1 into the potent vasoconstrictor endothelin-1, which is essential for regulating vascular tone and blood pressure. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining homeostasis, as endothelin-1 influences various physiological processes, including smooth muscle contraction and cell proliferation. ECE-1 is a type II membrane protein that belongs to the peptidase family M13, and ECE-1 is expressed in several tissues, including umbilical endothelial cells, atrial cardiomyocytes, ventricles, polynuclear neutrophils, and fibroblasts.
