E2F-5 Antibody (MH-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects E2F-5 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). E2F-5 plays a crucial role in the regulation of the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase, by forming heterodimers with the DP-1 protein to create an active E2F transcriptional regulatory complex. This complex is essential for the transcriptional activation of genes that are vital for cell proliferation and DNA synthesis. Proper functioning of E2F-5 is important because dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell growth, a hallmark of cancer. E2F-5 is part of a larger family of E2F transcription factors, which includes E2F-1, E2F-2, E2F-3, E2F-4, E2F-6, and E2F-7, each contributing to the intricate network of cell cycle regulation. E2F-5 (MH-5) monoclonal antibody is a valuable tool for researchers studying cell cycle dynamics and the molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis.
