Datasheets
  • dystrophin Antibody (MANDYS8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ, cited in 3 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 816-1749 of dystrophin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of dystrophin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and IHC(P)
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG2b BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for dystrophin Antibody (MANDYS8) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with dystrophin Antibody (MANDYS8) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Dystrophin Antibody (MANDYS8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects dystrophin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-dystrophin antibody (MANDYS8) is available as the non-conjugated form. Dystrophin plays a crucial role in the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex (DGC), which serves as a vital link between the F-actin cytoskeleton within muscle fibers and the surrounding extracellular matrix, thereby maintaining cellular integrity and muscle function. Dystrophin′s importance is underscored by involvement in muscle contraction and protection against mechanical stress; a deficiency in dystrophin is a primary contributor to Duchenne (DMD) and Becker (BMD) muscular dystrophies. The human dystrophin gene spans 2.4 megabases, comprising over 80 exons and producing a 14 kb mRNA transcript that is regulated by at least eight independent tissue-specific promoters and two poly A sites. Notably, dystrophin mRNA can undergo differential splicing, resulting in a diverse array of transcripts that encode various protein isoforms. Dystrophin constitutes approximately 0.002% of total striated muscle protein and is localized to triadic junctions in skeletal muscle, where dystrophin is believed to play a significant role in calcium ion homeostasis and force transmission, highlighting essential function in muscle physiology and pathology.

Are there any issues with using sc-58754: dystrophin (MANDYS8) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-58754 conjugates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice antibody for dystrophindystrophin (MANDYS8) is a good clone for Western blot, however, it is generally not as strong as some of our other dystrophin clones such as sc-73592 or sc-365954.
