DR1 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects DR1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DR1, also known as NC2β (negative cofactor 2 subunit β), plays a crucial role in the regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II, acting as both a repressor and an activator depending on the context of the transcriptional machinery. DR1 (C-8) antibody primarily detects the protein in the nucleus, where DR1 forms a heterodimer with NC2α (DRAP1) to create the NC2 complex, which is essential for modulating the transcriptional response to various stimuli. The presence of an N-terminal histone fold motif and a TFIID-binding domain in DR1 allows interaction with TFIID, thereby influencing the recruitment of transcription factors such as TFIIA and TFIIB. Notably, the activity of the NC2 complex is regulated by post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation, which affects the functional dynamics of both subunits, NC2α and DR1, in vivo. Anti-DR1 antibody (C-8) effectively recognizes and binds to DR1, making this antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying transcriptional regulation and its implications in various biological processes and diseases.
