    SEE ALSO...

DR1 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DR1 in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DR1 (D-1) antibody is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DR1, also known as down-regulator of transcription 1 or NC2β (negative cofactor 2 subunit β), plays a crucial role in regulating transcription by RNA polymerase II. DR1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where DR1 associates with the TFIID complex, essential for transcription initiation. An N-terminal histone fold motif in DR1 enables formation of a heterodimer with NC2α (DRAP1), creating the NC2 complex that modulates transcriptional activity. This complex acts as both a repressor and activator, depending on transcriptional machinery context. NC2 represses TATA-dependent transcription while enhancing DPE-dependent transcription, influencing gene expression in a nuanced manner. Post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, regulate NC2 complex activity by affecting DR1 interactions with other transcription factors and overall gene regulation function.
