    SEE ALSO...

DNase I Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects DNase I in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DNase I plays a crucial role in the apoptotic process by mediating internucleosomal DNA fragmentation, which is a hallmark of programmed cell death. This enzyme is a calcium and magnesium-dependent endonuclease that is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian tissues, highlighting its importance in cellular homeostasis and the regulation of apoptosis. Notably, DNase I is highly polymorphic, with at least six known alleles, which may influence its activity and function in different individuals. DNase I is primarily localized in the nuclei of epithelial and fiber cells, where DNase I cleaves DNA into 5′-phosphodinucleotide and 5′-phospho-oligonucleotide end-products, facilitating the orderly degradation of genomic DNA during apoptosis. Understanding the function and localization of DNase I is essential, as dysregulation of this enzyme can lead to various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases and cancer. Anti-DNase I antibody (D-1) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying apoptosis and related cellular processes.
