DIO1 Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects DIO1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). DIO1 Antibody (B-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. DIO1 (B-7) antibody targets deiodinase, iodothyronine, type I, a 249 amino acid single-pass membrane protein primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and belonging to the iodothyronine deiodinase family. DIO1 (B-7) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein crucial for thyroid hormone metabolism, functioning as a thiol-dependent propylthiouracil-sensitive oxidoreductase that converts thyroxine (T4) into bioactive 3,3′,5-triiodothyronine (T3), playing a significant role in thyroid hormone activation essential for regulating metabolism, growth, and development. DIO1 exists in nine alternatively spliced isoforms, with its gene located on human chromosome 1, containing over 3,000 genes and comprising nearly 8% of the human genome. The 88% sequence similarity between human DIO1 and rat counterpart underscores evolutionary conservation across species, making DIO1 a valuable target for thyroid hormone regulation research.
