Dicer Antibody (F-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Dicer protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Dicer antibody (F-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dicer plays a crucial role in the RNA interference pathway, where Dicer processes precursor microRNAs and short hairpin RNAs into functional small interfering RNAs. This function is vital for regulating gene expression and maintaining cellular homeostasis, as Dicer helps to silence unwanted or harmful RNA molecules, thereby preventing potential disruptions in cellular processes. Dicer is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm of mammalian cells, where Dicer co-localizes with calreticulin in the endoplasmic reticulum, highlighting Dicer′s importance in RNA processing and cellular signaling. The gene encoding human Dicer is located on chromosome 14q31, and Dicer expression is observed in various tissues, including the brain, heart, liver, lung, pancreas, kidney, and placenta. Notably, Dicer′s cleavage activity is ATP-independent, although ATP may facilitate the release of products necessary for rapid turnover. Additionally, immunoprecipitation (IP) studies have shown that Dicer forms a complex with the PIWI domain of eIF2C translation initiation factors, further underscoring Dicer′s integral role in RNA metabolism and gene regulation.
