DHS Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects DHS protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DHS antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Deoxyhypusine synthase (DHS) plays a pivotal role in the post-translational modification of eukaryotic initiation factor 5A (eIF-5A) through hypusine formation, which is critical for eIF-5A′s function in promoting cell proliferation. The hypusine modification occurs via a two-step enzymatic process involving DHS and deoxyhypusine hydroxylase (DOHH), with DHS catalyzing the initial step that converts spermidine into deoxyhypusine. This modification is essential for eIF-5A′s activity, as DHS facilitates the binding of eIF-5A to ribosomes, thereby enhancing protein synthesis and cell growth. DHS′s importance in the hypusine biosynthesis pathway underscores its potential as a therapeutic target in diseases characterized by dysregulated cell proliferation, such as cancer.
