Desmin Antibody (RD301) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Desmin protein of mouse, rat, human, hamster, canine, porcine, rabbit, and avian origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Desmin antibody (RD301) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Desmin, a 469 amino acid protein, plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of muscle cells by forming a network of intermediate filaments that connect the Z-discs of sarcomeres to membrane-associated proteins, thereby facilitating force transmission during muscle contraction.
