DD1-4 Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects dihydrodiol dehydrogenase (DD1, DD2, DD3, and DD4) in human, mouse, and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DD1-4 antibody (B-12) is available as a non-conjugated format. The dihydrodiol dehydrogenases, which include isoforms DD1, DD2, DD3, and DD4, are part of the aldo-oxo reductase/aldo-keto reductase superfamily and play a crucial role in the metabolism of xenobiotics, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, pesticides, and steroid hormones. These enzymes utilize NADH or NADPH as cofactors to catalyze the reduction of ketone-containing drugs, with DD1 and DD2 specifically functioning as 20α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenases that convert progesterone into its inactive form, 20α-hydroxyprogesterone. DD3 is distinguished by its ability to catalyze the dehydrogenation of trans-benzenedihydrodiol and trans-naphthalenedihydrodiol, highlighting its unique enzymatic activity. DD1 and DD2 are ubiquitously expressed, while DD4 mRNA is primarily found in the liver, indicating a specialized role in hepatic metabolism. The diverse functions and tissue-specific expression of these dihydrodiol dehydrogenases underscore their importance in drug metabolism and hormonal regulation, making DD1-4 (B-12) monoclonal antibody an essential tool for researchers studying these critical biochemical pathways.
