DAAM1 Antibody (WW-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects DAAM1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-DAAM1 antibody (WW-3) is available as a non-conjugated format. DAAM1, or dishevelled associated activator of morphogenesis 1, is a 1,078 amino acid protein belonging to the Formin homology protein family, and plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways. DAAM1 is primarily localized to the perinuclear cytoplasm and is expressed throughout various tissues, where DAAM1 binds to disheveled (Dvl) and Rho, facilitating the Wnt-induced formation of the Dvl-Rho complex. Formation of this complex is essential for Rho activation, which regulates critical cellular processes such as polarity, movement, and cytoskeletal architecture. DAAM1′s importance in these processes underscores a key role in maintaining cellular integrity and function. DAAM1 contains multiple binding domains that enable interaction with various proteins, including CIP4, FNBP1, and spectrin, thereby coordinating the dynamics of the actin filament system. DAAM1 functions as a scaffolding protein, recruiting Rho-GEF and Rho-GDP to enhance Rho-GTP formation, which is vital for effective signal transduction. Three distinct isoforms of DAAM1 exist due to alternative splicing events, adding another layer of complexity to regulatory functions in cellular processes.
