    SEE ALSO...

cytochrome c1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects cytochrome c1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cytochrome c1 plays a crucial role in cellular respiration as a component of the ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex, which is essential for generating an electrochemical potential that drives ATP synthesis. Cytochrome c1 facilitates the transfer of electrons from the cytochrome bc1 complex to cytochrome c oxidase, a process vital for maintaining the energy balance within cells. The cytochrome bc1 complex consists of 11 subunits, including three respiratory subunits—cytochrome b, cytochrome c1, and Rieske/UQCRFS1—along with core proteins and low-molecular weight proteins that contribute to its functionality. Cytochrome c1 binds one heme per subunit, a feature significant for electron transfer capabilities, particularly regarding structural changes from mutations affecting the di-heme cytochrome structure. Regulation of cytochrome c1 by transcription factors such as E2F and Sp1 further underscores its importance in cellular metabolism and energy production, making anti-cytochrome c1 antibody (D-10) an invaluable tool for researchers studying mitochondrial function and related pathways.
