SEE ALSO...

Cytochrome b5 Antibody (36) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects cytochrome b5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-cytochrome b5 antibody (36) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cytochrome b5 is a crucial membrane-bound heme protein that plays a significant role as an electron carrier for various membrane-bound oxygenases, facilitating essential biochemical reactions. Cytochrome b5 includes two heme groups that are not covalently attached, allowing for flexibility in electron transfer. Alternative splicing generates two isoforms - a microsomal membrane-bound form and a cytoplasmic form - highlighting cytochrome b5′s versatility in different cellular contexts. Mutations in cytochrome b5 have been linked to serious conditions such as Leber′s hereditary optic neuropathy and myopathy, underscoring cytochrome b5′s significance in human health and disease.

Can cytochrome b5 (36): sc-130311 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, cytochrome b5 (36): sc-130311 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
