CTMP Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CTMP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CTMP (H-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The carboxy-terminal modulator protein (CTMP) plays a crucial role in regulating the Akt signaling pathway, which is vital for cellular processes such as growth, survival, and metabolism. Located in the cytoplasm, CTMP interacts with the C-terminal regulatory domain of Akt, serving as a negative regulator that inhibits the phosphorylation of Akt at serine 473 and threonine 308. This inhibition is significant because aberrant activation of the Akt pathway is frequently associated with various cancers, including glioblastomas, where decreased expression of CTMP due to hypermethylation of its promoter has been linked to tumor progression. By understanding the function and regulatory mechanisms of CTMP, researchers can gain insights into potential therapeutic targets for conditions driven by dysregulated Akt signaling.

which product of CTMP antibodies can be used for flow cytometric when the sample is formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded tissue sections and what is the protocol please?

Asked by: makhoul
Thank you for your question. Please contact our Technical Service Department for help in determining which is the best antibody for your intended research applications. We would not recommend using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections for any flow cytometry application.

Can CTMP (H-10): sc-390353 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, CTMP (H-10): sc-390353 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
