CtIP Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects CtIP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CtIP antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CtIP protein, also known as RBBP8, plays a crucial role in DNA repair and cell cycle regulation, particularly in double-strand break repair. CtIP is primarily located in the nucleus, where CtIP interacts with key proteins involved in homologous recombination repair pathway, such as BRCA1. This interaction helps maintain genomic stability and prevent tumorigenesis. CtIP binding to BRCA1 through BRCT repeats is essential for regulating transcription of genes involved in DNA damage response, including p21 promoter, which is critical for cell cycle arrest following DNA damage. Through modulation of BRCA1 activity, CtIP influences cellular response to DNA damage, highlighting CtIP′s importance in cancer biology and therapeutic strategies.

Can CtIP (D-4): sc-271339 be frozen?

Asked by: jenniferc
No. The antibody solution contains gelatin. When the gelatin is frozen the antibody precipitates out of solution. However, if an antibody’s datasheet says that the antibody should be stored frozen, then the antibody can be frozen, as these antibodies do not contain gelatin.
