CSB Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CSB in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CSB antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CSB, also known as excision repair cross-complementing protein-6 (ERCC-6), plays a crucial role in the nucleotide excision repair pathway, specifically in the preferential repair of DNA lesions on the transcribed strand of active genes. This function is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing mutations that can lead to diseases, including cancer. Mutations in CSB are associated with Cockayne′s syndrome, a disorder characterized by sensitivity to ultraviolet light and developmental defects, highlighting CSB′s importance in cellular repair mechanisms. CSB is homologous to the yeast Rad26 protein and belongs to the SWI/SNF family, possessing helicase motifs and ATPase activity that facilitate CSB′s role in DNA repair.
