Datasheets
  • creatine kinase-M Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 357-380 at the C-terminus of creatine kinase-M + of human origin
  • recommended for detection of creatine kinase-M chain of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, canine, bovine and porcine
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for creatine kinase-M Antibody (C-4) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with creatine kinase-M Antibody (C-4) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Creatine kinase-M Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects creatine kinase-M in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Creatine kinase-M is a muscle tissue-specific isoform of creatine kinase, consisting of 381 amino acids, and plays a crucial role in energy metabolism by catalyzing the reversible transfer of phosphate from creatine to adenosine diphosphate (ADP), thereby regenerating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) during periods of high energy demand. This function is particularly important in muscle cells, where ATP is essential for muscle contraction and overall cellular function. The regulation of ATP levels by creatine kinase-M is vital for maintaining energy homeostasis, especially during intense physical activity or stress, as ATP remains readily available for muscle contraction and other metabolic processes. Creatine kinase-M also regulates calcium pumps, which are critical for muscle relaxation and contraction, highlighting significance in both muscle physiology and pathophysiology. Anti-creatine kinase-M antibody (C-4) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle metabolism, energy regulation, and related disorders, providing insights into molecular mechanisms underlying muscle function and disease.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well for western blottingOur sales rep Korey Griffin sent us a sample of this antibody for trial purposes a couple of months back. Robust bands were seen in differentiated L6 cell lysates at the expected molecular weight of 43kD but the background above the bands of interest was relatively dirty due to non-specific binding. Comparatively the creatine kinase (H-9) antibody worked better.
