    SEE ALSO...

CPTI-M Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects carnitine palmitoyltransferase I (CPTI) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CPTI plays a crucial role in the mitochondrial β-oxidation of long-chain fatty acids, serving as the first enzyme in the transport process that moves these fatty acids from the cytoplasm into the mitochondria, which is essential for energy production. The protein exists in two isoforms, CPTIA and CPTIB, with the muscle type (CPTIB) being predominantly expressed in heart and skeletal muscle tissues, highlighting its importance in energy metabolism during physical activity. Notably, CPTI is regulated by malonyl-coenzyme A, which inhibits its activity and thus plays a significant role in controlling fatty acid oxidation based on the cell′s energy needs. The integrity of the mitochondrial membrane is vital for CPTI′s function, as CPTI requires a proper membrane environment to catalyze reactions effectively. Anti-CPTI antibody (D-8) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolic disorders, cardiac function, and the regulation of fatty acid metabolism, providing insights into the physiological and pathological roles of CPTI in human health.
