  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 665-688 within a C-terminal cytoplasmic domain of CPTI of human origin
  • CPTI Antibody (E-7) is recommended for detection of CPTI, liver isoform (CPTI-L) and muscle isoform (CPTI-M) of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, canine, bovine and porcine
  • Anti-CPTI Antibody (E-7) is available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; and to either phycoerythrin or FITC for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • also available conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488, Alexa Fluor® 546, Alexa Fluor® 594 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for WB (RGB), IF, IHC(P) and FCM, and for use with RGB fluorescent imaging systems, such as iBright™ FL1000, FluorChem™, Typhoon, Azure and other comparable systems

SEE ALSO...

CPTI Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CPTI protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-CPTI antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CPTI plays a crucial role in mitochondrial β-oxidation of long-chain fatty acids, initiating fatty acid transport from cytoplasm into mitochondrion, which is a rate-limiting step in the metabolic pathway. This process is essential for energy production, particularly in tissues that rely heavily on fatty acid oxidation, such as heart and skeletal muscle. CPTI exists in two isoforms: CPTIA, predominantly expressed in liver, and CPTIB, specifically found in muscle tissues. Membrane-bound CPTI is reversibly inhibited by malonyl-coenzyme A, highlighting regulatory mechanisms that control fatty acid metabolism. Specific amino acids, such as glutamic acid at position 3 and histidine at position 5, are critical for malonyl CoA binding and inhibition in liver CPTI, although these residues do not affect catalytic activity. This intricate regulation underscores CPTI′s importance in maintaining metabolic homeostasis and energy balance within cells.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393070 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
