Datasheets
  • CPEB Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgA κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 162-187 near the N-terminus of CPEB of human origin
  • recommended for detection of CPEB long and short isoforms of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • TransCruz reagent for ChIP application (sc-514683 X, 200 µg/0.1 ml)
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for CPEB Antibody (A-9) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with CPEB Antibody (A-9) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

CPEB Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgA antibody that detects CPEB in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CPEB, or cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein, plays a crucial role in the regulation of messenger RNA translation, which is vital for various cellular processes including cell-cycle progression and early development. CPEB is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where CPEB binds to specific RNA sequences known as cytoplasmic polyadenylation elements, thereby influencing the stability and localization of mRNAs. CPEB′s ability to modulate translational repression is particularly important during oocyte maturation, as CPEB ensures the timely activation of mRNAs necessary for this process. Additionally, CPEB is synthesized during oogenesis and stored in the oocyte until needed, with degradation occurring via the proteasome pathway, often involving ubiquitin-conjugated intermediates. Anti-CPEB antibody (A-9) is an essential tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of mRNA regulation and its implications in developmental biology and neurobiology.
