COPZ1 Antibody (H-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects COPZ1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). COPZ1 plays a crucial role in the early secretory pathway by forming part of the coatomer protein complex I (COPI), which is essential for the retrograde transport of proteins from the Golgi apparatus back to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) as well as for intra-Golgi transport. This retrograde transport is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and ensuring that proteins are correctly processed and recycled, which is particularly important in secretory cells that rely on efficient protein trafficking for their function. COPZ1 interacts with other subunits of the coatomer complex, including COPA, β′-COP, and COPE, forming a heptameric coatomer that facilitates vesicle formation and transport.
