    SEE ALSO...

COG7 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects COG7 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). COG7 (G-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COG7, also known as CDG2E, is a crucial component of the conserved oligomeric Golgi (COG) complex, which plays a vital role in maintaining the structure and function of the Golgi apparatus. This complex is essential for proper glycosylation reactions and vesicular transport, consisting of three subcomplexes—LDLC, SEC34, and GTT—that work together to facilitate these processes. COG7, a 770 amino acid peripheral membrane protein, mediates vesicle docking and fusion, ensuring proteins are correctly modified and transported within cells. Defects in COG7 can lead to congenital disorder of glycosylation type 2E (CDG2E), a serious inherited condition characterized by under-glycosylated serum proteins, psychomotor retardation, hypotonia, coagulation disorders, and immunodeficiency, highlighting COG7′s critical role in cellular function and human health.

Can COG7 (G-1): sc-271699 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, COG7 (G-1): sc-271699 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
